The Hit Man
For the promotion of a new range of ‘spods’ that are designed to enter the lake without making a big impact on the surface.
The headline of “The Silent Assassin” was coined and we set to work on the campaign.
With the star angler Ian Russell fitting the bill of “The Hitman” the concept was born.
I photographed Ian in the famous assassin’s pose to mirror the movie artwork.
I shot the image in the studio and used low-key lighting to get the right look and feel. Primarily achieving the right effect in-camera meant only a few tweaks in Photoshop were required to finalise the shot, ready for the artwork.
I put the design elements together in Adobe Indesign, and prepared the artwork for the magazine.
Overall the campaign was a great success, the product sold out after just a few weeks, no mean feat in this already densely saturated market.
